Van Langen

Van Langen, a German music project founded in 1994 in Munich, was led by frontman Marcus van Langen. Initially performing solo or acoustically with a band, Van Langen began with rock-infused Irish folk before incorporating the musical traditions of Central Europe. The group's debut album Ask the Runes was released in 1996. Van Langen evolved to blend medieval instrumentation with electronic sounds, featuring instruments like the bagpipe, shawm, harp, and cister. Their discography includes albums such as Chosen Ones (1999), Ales umb der holden frouwen minne (2002), and Zeychen der Zeyt (2005). In 1999, Marcus van Langen also launched the side project Des Teufels Lockvögel.
