Bassa, a German tango band from Berlin, was formed in 2007, consisting of Hannes Daerr on clarinet, Miriam Erttmann on violin, Takashi Peterson on guitar, and Tobias Fleischer on double bass. The group initially gained traction with their unique blend of classical tango, vals, bossa nova, flamenco, and klezmer, setting them apart in the music scene. Their debut album Berlin Tango was released in November 2009, followed by Medialuna in 2010. The band's third album, Tempo:Pasíon!, was released in 2012. Bassa is known for their live performances and appearances at milongas, where they often integrate popular titles into their repertoire of original compositions. Their music is characterized by the absence of the traditional tango instrument, the bandoneon, emphasizing a modern and multicultural sound.
