Věra Špinarová, born 22 December 1951, was a Czech singer renowned for her powerful alto voice and enduring popularity. Born in Pohořelice and raised in Ostrava, she began her music career at 15 and performed with bands including Flamingo, Majestic, the Orchestr Ivo Pavlíka, and Speciál. Her solo career produced 13 studio albums, beginning with Andromeda (1972), while Meteor lásky (1982). Her best-known hit, "Jednoho dne se vrátíš," adapted from Ennio Morricone’s Once Upon a Time in the West, became a Czech classic. Špinarová received numerous honors, including the Golden Shield award in 1973 and a bronze prize at the 1976 Bratislava Lyre. She remained active in music until her death in 2017.
