Mark Marquardt, known professionally as Akte One, was born on June 20, 1978, in East Berlin and is a German rapper. In 1986, he fled to the West with his mother and stepfather, settling in Augsburg before returning to Berlin in 1989 where they witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall. Akte One began his artistic journey in 1991 when he discovered graffiti, forming the crew TLB with Soral in 1993. His musical career took off in 1998 when he collaborated with Mach One to form the duo Die Lätzten, releasing their debut tape (R)evolution in 2000. Akte One's solo career began with Overkill, released in 2003 under Bassboxxx and Teroa labels, which he co-founded. Throughout his career, Akte One has released several notable albums including Fat Cap Rap (2009), Blues (2012), and Impetus (2019). He has also ventured into urban art, exhibiting his work in various galleries internationally.
