Chantal Sitruk, known professionally as Chantal Curtis, was born in Tunisia and later based in France; she worked as a singer. Her early recordings appeared under the alias Chantal Alexandre, with the 1973 single "Juste Un Petit Peu De Soleil" / "Rien N'a Changé". Curtis was discovered in Paris in the early 1970s when producer Pierre Jaubert heard her voice on the street and invited her to record; her first major breakthrough came with the 1979 disco hit "Get Another Love", released on Keylock Records and remixed by Glen Blacks. The single entered the UK charts, peaking at number 51 in July 1979, and reached number 11 on the Dallas/Houston disco chart that same month. In 1977 she released the album Magic Love on West End Records, produced by Pierre Jaubert and Tom Moulton, and the track "Disco Dance" became a U.S. single. Curtis also provided backing vocals for artists such as Pasteur Lappe, Kassav', and Beckie Bell, and collaborated with Pierre Jaubert on the album Get Another Love and the 1978 Barclay release Don't You Know. Her career was cut short when she died in Israel in 1985, a casualty of an assassination attempt on her boyfriend.
