Machetazo, a Spanish deathgrind band from La Coruña, was formed in 1994 as a side project by members of other local death metal bands. Initially leaning towards noisecore rather than grindcore, Machetazo released their first demos 46 cabezas aplastadas por un yunque oxidado (1995) and Realmente disfruto comiendo cadáveres (1997), the latter gaining international recognition and re-released by Fudgeworthy Records in 1999. Their debut album, Carne De Cementerio, was released in 2000 under Razorback Records. The band's lineup evolved over time, with Dopi remaining a constant member on drums and vocals. Notable releases include Trono De Huesos (2002), Sinfonías Del Terror Ciego (2005), and Mundo Cripta (2008). Machetazo announced their split in 2014 on their official website.
