Marcin Dylla, born in 1976 in Chorzów, Poland, is a Polish classical guitarist who began guitar lessons at eight in Ruda Śląska. From 1995 to 2000, he studied at the Music Academy of Katowice, and subsequently trained under Oscar Ghiglia, Sonja Prunnbauer, and Carlo Marchione. Between 1996 and 2007, he won 19 first prizes in international competitions, including the Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Alhambra (2000) and the Guitar Foundation of America (2007). In 2006, he premiered Joaquín Rodrigo’s classical piece “Toccata” (1933). His tours included a 2008/09 North American tour that covered 50 cities, and he made his Carnegie Hall debut on April 11, 2013. His discography includes the live DVD Wawel Royal Castle at Dusk (2007), which was nominated for a Polish Fryderyk music award in 2010, along with the albums Sonatas (2003) and Chitarra Giocosa (2005).
