14 Karat Soul, an American a cappella group from East Orange, New Jersey, began its career in the late 1970s as a doo-wop group. They gained prominence through appearances on Saturday Night Live, Sesame Street, and Between the Lions. The group was featured in the 1980 short film Sister Suzie Cinema by Bob Telson and Lee Breuer. Their discography includes albums like The Girl In White (1988) and Transpacific (1994), as well as the single "This Boy / Ain't Too Proud To Beg" in 1987. They achieved significant popularity in Japan, leading to releases on Pony Canyon for the Japanese market. Notable collaborations include Sister Suzie Cinema & The Gospel at Colonus with Ben Halley Jr.
