Martin Juhls, known professionally as Marsen Jules, was born in 1977 in Lünen, Germany, and is a musician, DJ, and label owner. He began his career as a DJ and producer, initially gaining traction with the release of Taumelflug EP under the pseudonym Falter in 2002. Juhls' first album, Lazy Sunday Funerals, was released in 2003 under the Marsen Jules moniker through Autoplate. Throughout his career, he has explored various genres within electronic music, including ambient dub and minimal house. Notable releases include Herbstlaub (2005) and Les Fleurs (2006), both on City Centre Offices, as well as collaborations with the Goethe-Institut in 2007. Juhls founded his own label, Oktaf, in 2009, releasing albums such as Yara. In 2011, he formed Marsen Jules Trio, which blends ambient and classical music. Significant works include "The Endless Change of Colour" (2013) and At GRM (2014).
