David Theodor Schmidt

David Theodor Schmidt is a German classical pianist born on September 3 1982 in Erlangen. Schmidt achieved professional recognition for a musical career that began after studying at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe under Sontraud Speidel and at the Royal College of Music London under Kevin Kenner. He achieved professional recognition for performing at the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Gasteig Munich, and the Tschaikowsky Conservatory Moscow. His recording career began with the studio recording Johann Sebastian Bach: Partita BWV 830 (2007) released on the label Profil - Edition Günter Hänssler. Schmidt achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Felix Mendelssohn: 2 Lieder ohne Worte (2008) which was named CD of the Month by the magazine FonoForum. He achieved professional recognition for receiving the Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis in 2009. His discography included the studio recording Johann Sebastian Bach: Partiten BWV 825 & 826 (2011) and the studio recording Franz Schubert / Franz Liszt: 4 Liedtranskriptionen (2011). Schmidt achieved professional recognition for performing in the series C. Bechstein Klavierabende and at the festival Schubertiade Schwarzenberg/Hohenems.
