André Schnabel, known professionally as Mr. Schnabel and Howie Do, is a German hip-hop artist. He began his career rapping in English during the early 1980s but transitioned to German rap in the 1990s. Initially part of the group Dialektik with DJ York and TC, Mr. Schnabel's breakthrough came after producing a demo with Backspin (Dennis Kraus) that caught the attention of producers C.L.A.A.S., Sleepwalker, and Andreas Herbig. This led to his deal with Showdown Records/Warner Music. Mr. Schnabel released his debut EP Mic Check in 1998, followed by Is'n Schnabelding – Willkommen In Schnabylon in 2001, which peaked at number 54 on the charts. After leaving Showdown Records in 2004, he founded his own label Howie Like It with DJ Meru, producing under the name Howie Do.
