Iniquity, a Danish death metal group established in 1989, emerged from the vibrant metal scene of Denmark. The band's early years were marked by a dedication to their craft and a growing local following. The band's first full-length album, Serenadium, was released in 1996, followed by their first EP, The Hidden Lore, in 1998 via Mighty Music Records. Iniquity also released their album Grime in 2002, showcasing their distinctive sound within the death metal genre. Despite disbanding in 2004, Iniquity left an enduring impact on Danish metal music. The band's music is characterized by its doom metal and laid-back style of gloomy death-thrash, which resonated with fans of extreme metal. The band reunited in 2012 with The Hidden Lore lineup to celebrate an anniversary, leading to several live performances in 2013. Following the cancellation of a few dates from the anniversary tour, Iniquity regrouped once more in 2014 to complete the remaining shows.
