Tristan Perich

Tristan Perich (born 1982) is an American contemporary composer and sound artist from New York City. Perich earned a B.A. from Columbia University in 2004 and a master’s degree from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Perich utilized electronic one-bit sound, which he defined as music featuring no more than one bit of information at any given time. Perich released the electronic works 1-Bit Music (2005) and 1-Bit Symphony (2010). In 2009, Perich received the Prix Ars Electronica. Perich collaborated with the Bang on a Can ensemble and the Calder Quartet. Perich performed at the Blip Festival and Sónar 2010 in Barcelona. His discography included the albums Surface Image (2014) and Drift Multiply (2020).
