Guido Agosti, born on August 11, 1901, in Forlì, Italy, was a pianist, composer, and piano teacher. He studied at the Liceo Musicale in Bologna from 1911 to 1914 under Ferruccio Busoni, Bruno Mugellini, and Filippo Ivaldi, graduating at age 13. Agosti's performing career began successfully but was often hindered by nervous issues, leading him to focus on teaching. He instructed at conservatories in Venice, Rome, and Milan from 1933 to 1949. Post-World War II, he conducted masterclasses in Rome and at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, mentoring numerous musicians, including Maria Tipo and Hector Pell. His concert career resumed in 1967, often performing with flutist Severino Gazzelloni and cellist Enrico Mainardi. Notable recordings include works by Beethoven and Debussy. Agosti is also known for his transcription of Igor Stravinsky's L'Oiseau de feu. He passed away on June 2, 1989, in Milan.
