Captain Tractor, a Canadian folk rock band based in Edmonton, Alberta, became active in 1993. The group is known for their punk-influenced variant of Celtic folk music and songs rich in local, cultural, and geographical references. They released their debut album, Land, in 1994, followed by East of Edson in 1995. Notable singles from these early albums include "The Log Driver's Waltz" and "Drunken Sailor". The band gained further recognition with subsequent releases such as Bought the Farm (1997), Celebrity Traffic Jam (1999), and North of the Yellowhead (2005). In celebration of their 25th anniversary in 2018, Captain Tractor released a re-mastered retrospective titled 25 Years On. The band has also collaborated with Edmonton's Alley Kat Brewing Company and Hansen Distillery on branded beverages.
