Szabolcs Zempléni, born on January 8, 1981 in Budapest, Hungary, is a Hungarian horn player. He studied at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music under Ferenc Tarjáni and at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin with Christian Friedrich Dallmann and Markus Bruggaier. His professional breakthrough came in 2000 when he joined the Budapest Festival Orchestra as principal horn, and joined the Bamberg Symphony also as principal horn from 2005 to 2013. In 2011 he released the album Colours Of The French Horn. His career was marked by multiple awards, including first prize at the Hungarian Horn Competition (1995), main prize at the Concertino Praga (1998), and first prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich (2005).
