Wave in Head is a German synth-pop music project founded in Magdeburg, Germany, by musician Michael Pohl. After beginning musical activities as a hobby using an Ensoniq ASR-10 sampler, Pohl released the self-distributed EP Rarely (1999). Signing with the record label A Different Drum in 2001, Pohl released the debut studio album Time to Speak (2001) alongside the singles “Progress” (2001) and “I Just Began to Hope” (2001), which collectively remained on the label's best-selling chart for over ten weeks. Subsequent album releases include You (2002), For a Special Moment (2005), The Voice in Me (2010), Remixed (2012), Im Augenblick (2013), and the album Happiest Day, which was issued by the label IntraPOP on February 22, 2022. In 2023, the project followed with the remix album Brilliance (2023). Pohl also contributed a cover of the song “Blue Monday” to the New Order tribute album True Faith.
