Elyjah, a post-rock band from Berlin, was founded in 2003. Initially working instrumentally, their early tracks featured intricate rhythms and powerful riffs. In 2006, Elyjah released a split EP with the Viennese post-rock collective Thalija via Siluh Records and composed the soundtrack for the animated film Der selbstsüchtige Riese. The band's debut album, Planet, Planet, was released on November 20, 2009, through Klimbim Records. Collaborating with musician Robin tom Rink on lyrics, Planet received critical acclaim, ranking third in Visions' Soundcheck and second in the Postrock Charts of their annual poll. The album's artwork won silver at the Eighty-ninth Annual Award of the Art Directors Club New York and gold at the European Design Award 2010. Elyjah contributed songs to the television film Das Wunder von Berlin (2008) and announced their disbandment in November 2012.
