Die Lokalmatadore, a German punk band from Mülheim an der Ruhr, was formed in 1982 by Michel "Bubba" Toenges, Rommel, and Ralph. The group emerged from the band Pissrinne and initially featured Michel "Bubba" Toenges on vocals until Christof "ElFisch" Schneiderbanger joined in 1987. Their first release was the self-produced EP Bizzchen arm in 1989, followed by their debut album Ein Leben für die Ärmsten in 1991. The band gained attention with albums like Heute ein König . . . Morgen ein Arschloch (1994) and Männer Rock 'n' Roll (2000), known for their punk rock style influenced by bands like the Ramones and Cock Sparrer, as well as their humorous and sarcastic lyrics. Die Lokalmatadore were also notable supporters of FC Schalke 04, releasing several football-themed songs and albums, including Alle unsere Schalke Lieder in 2011. The band announced their breakup in October 2024, with their farewell concerts taking place from February 13 to 16, 2025.
