The Heartbreak Motel, a punk rock band from Recklinghausen, Germany, was formed in 2001. The group gained early traction performing at various festivals, including Bochum Total and Traffic Jam Open Air. They shared stages with notable acts like Beatsteaks and Sick of It All and performed at the MTV Campus Invasion in Münster on July 1, 2006. In April 2007, The Heartbreak Motel released their album Handguns Make the Most Love through Limited Access Records, which was distributed internationally. Following this release, they toured Germany and Austria and played major festivals including Taubertal-Festival and Big Day Out. In 2008, they collaborated with Zero Mentality for a split 7" & MCD produced by Jacob Bredahl. The band disbanded in mid-2009 after recording an unreleased album. Post-disbandment, several of their songs were published on Facebook in January 26, 2015, and they held a surprise farewell concert on June 27, 2015, in Bochum.
