Born in Sacramento, but perfected in Seattle, Former Jock is an indie / alternative outfit from singer songwriter Spencer J. Bennett.
With a name derived from an identity crisis Bennett had in high school, and built on infectious melodies, introspective lyrics, and loud punchy guitars, Former Jock brings a fresh spin on an old favorite in the Pacific Northwest.
The band cites influences from Britpop juggernauts Oasis and The Verve, 90's alternative staples Counting Crows and R.E.M, as well as modern indie stars like Alvvays, Sam Fender, and Car Seat Headrest.
