Retribution Gospel Choir, an American indie rock band based in Duluth, Minnesota, featured Alan Sparhawk on guitar and vocals, Steve Garrington on bass, and Eric Pollard on drums and vocals. Matt Livingston, also a bassist with Low, played bass for the band until 2008. Retribution Gospel Choir's high-energy performances contrasted sharply with the subdued minimalism of Low, another band featuring Sparhawk and Garrington. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2008, which received a 7.5 rating from Pitchfork. Their second studio album, 2, was released in 2010.
