Harvey Sorgen (born 1957) is an American drummer and percussionist with a career spanning jazz and rock. He began playing drums in 1964, collaborating early in his career with Ahmad Jamal, Roswell Rudd, and Bill Frisell, and performing in the rock bands NRBQ, Hot Tuna, and his own group, The Mallards. From the 1980s, he worked with Betty MacDonald, Joe Fonda, Dave Douglas, Pete Levin, John Lindberg, Nicole Metzger, Herb Robertson, and Mark Whitecage. In the mid-1990s, he formed a trio with Michael Jefry Stevens and Steve Rust. His discography includes Outlet, A Scent in Motion (1994), Novella (1996), Decade (2003), Rumble Seat (2008), Three (2010), and the 2024 collaboration Forest with Marilyn Crispell.
