Nina Maria Nastasia, born on May 13, 1966, in Los Angeles, California, is an American folk singer-songwriter. She released her debut album Dogs in 2000, which gained traction after BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel started playing it on his show, earning Nastasia a cult following. Her subsequent albums include The Blackened Air (2002), Run to Ruin (2003), and the collaborative effort with Jim White, You Follow Me (2007). Notable singles include "What She Doesn't Know" (2008) and "Cry, Cry, Baby" (2010). Nastasia took an extended hiatus after her 2010 album Outlaster, returning in 2022 with Riderless Horse. Her eighth studio album, Songs for a World of Trouble, was self-produced and released in 2025.
