Vamp is a Norwegian folk group from Haugesund, which was formed in 1991 by Øyvind Staveland and Torbjørn Økland. Their debut album Godmorgen, søster was released in 1993, followed by Horisonter (1994). One of their most well-known songs, “Tir n’a Noir,” became a major radio hit in Norway and across Scandinavia and remains closely associated with the band’s identity. Vamp also achieved major commercial success with Siste stikk (2005), which topped Norwegian charts and received multi-platinum sales. Their collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) led to the successful live project I full symfoni (2006), later followed by I full symfoni II (2010), both released on CD and DVD. Throughout their career, Vamp has received numerous awards, including multiple Spellemannprisen wins, establishing them as one of Norway’s most successful folk-rock groups.
