Rastrelli Cello Quartet

Rastrelli Cello Quartet is a cello ensemble from Germany. Formed in 2002, the group was founded by cellists Kira Kraftzoff, Kirill Timofeev, Sergio Drabkin and Mischa Degtjareff. The ensemble performs its own arrangements of works ranging from classical pieces to jazz, klezmer and pop. Their repertoire includes compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Peter Tchaikovsky, Dave Brubeck and Paul McCartney. The group released its debut album Rastrelli Cello Quartett (Vol. 1) in 2003. This was followed by the recordings Cello in Jazz (Vol. 2) (2005) and Cello in Classic (Vol. 3) (2006). Their subsequent recordings included the albums In a Sentimental Mood (Vol. 5) (2011) and Cello & Beatles (2018). The ensemble frequently performs with clarinetist Giora Feidman and appeared on the collaborative album Klezmer Bridges (2015).
