Taking Dawn, a heavy metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2007. Initially named 7th Son as a tribute to Iron Maiden's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, the group later changed their name to Taking Dawn and signed with Roadrunner Records in 2009. Their debut album, Time to Burn, was released in 2009, followed by extensive touring alongside notable acts such as Airbourne, Kiss, Slash, Trivium, All That Remains, Halestorm, DragonForce, and Theory of a Deadman. The band also performed at major festivals like Download in Europe and Soundwave in Australia. In late 2010, drummer Alan Doucette left the band and was replaced by Carlo Mazzone. Taking Dawn released their second album Dawn of the Demos in 2020.
