Jon Irabagon is a Filipino-American saxophonist and composer. He earned his BM in Music Business at DePaul University in 2000 and moved to New York City for further studies at Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard. In 2003, Irabagon joined Moppa Elliott's Mostly Other People Do the Killing, recording 11 albums with the group. His debut album as leader, Outright!, was released in 2008 by Innova Records. That same year, he won the Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition and signed with Concord Records, which released his album The Observer in 2009. In 2015, Irabagon released two albums as leader: Behind the Sky, recorded with his quartet; and Inaction is An Action, an experimental solo sopranino saxophone record. He received a Philippine Presidential Award in 2014.
