Soreption, a technical death metal band from Sundsvall, Sweden, formed in 2005. The group initially consisted of Fredrik Söderberg on vocals, Tony Westermark on drums, Rickard Persson on bass, and Anton Svedin on guitars. Their debut release was the EP Illuminate the Excessive in 2007, followed by their first full-length album Deterioration of Minds in 2010. In 2014, after the release of their second album Engineering the Void, bassist Rickard Persson left the band and was replaced by Mikael Almgren. In 2019, their song "A Mimic's Ignorance" was featured on the television show On My Block. Their fourth album, Jord, was released in June 2022.
