Great Lakes Myth Society is an American folk rock group from southeast Michigan, formed in 2004. The lineup includes brothers Timothy Monger and Jamie Christopher Monger, alongside Fido Kennington, Greg McIntosh, and Scott McClintock. The group evolved from the duo The Original Brothers and Sisters of Love, which the brothers originally founded in Brighton, Michigan, as The Original Brothers of Love. The duo moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1998, and released the albums The Legende of Jeb Minor (1999) and H.O.M.E.S. Vol. One (2001). After the bankruptcy of their record label, the duo disbanded but quickly reformed in 2004 under their current name. In April 2005, the group released its self-titled debut album, Great Lakes Myth Society, through the label Stop, Pop, and Roll; the record was originally titled H.O.M.E.S. Vol. Two. After signing with the label Quack!Media, the band released its second album, Compass Rose Bouquet (2007), followed by the single “She’s Come Home to Steal Her Rainbows / Brablec Farms” (2008). In early 2011, Chevrolet featured excerpts of the songs “Midwest Main Street” and “Debutante” in Detroit metropolitan area commercials.
