Haydée Milanés, born on September 28, 1980, in Havana, Cuba, is a singer, composer, arranger, and producer. Growing up, she was immersed in music by her father Pablo Milanés. She studied piano at the Manuel Saumell Conservatory from age six and began singing professionally in 1999 with pianist Ernán López-Nussa's quartet. In 2004, she released her first solo album Haydée, which received positive critical reception. Her notable collaborations include work with Pablo Milanés, Omara Portuondo, Chico Buarque, Fito Páez and Los Ángeles Azules. In 2014, she released the album Palabras, a tribute to Marta Valdés' compositions. This won the Cubadisco award in 2015.
