Emanuel Ortega, born October 18, 1977, Buenos Aires, Argentina, is an Argentine pop singer, actor, and composer. A son of Ramón “Palito” Ortega and Evangelina Salazar, he began learning instruments at eight and performed publicly in Miami by age ten. His breakthrough came in 1993 when he released his debut solo album Conociéndonos, featuring the radio hits "Hagámoslo de una vez" and "Siempre estuve enamorado de ti". He followed with Soñé (1995), Emanuel Ortega (1997), A escondidas (1999) and Presente imperfecto (2001), the latter winning him the 2000 Gardel for Best Male Pop Artist. Subsequent releases include Ortega (2003), El camino (2007), Todo bien (2009) and, Esta noche (2012). He also toured across Latin America, Europe, and the United States.
