Excepter is an American experimental music group from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002 by John Fell Ryan, a member of the No-Neck Blues Band. The group is known for its eclectic blend of psychedelic rock, electronic music, noise, drone, dub, house, and improvisation, creating a constantly evolving sound through live and studio experimentation. Their debut album, KA (2003), was followed by releases including Obedience (2004), Self Destruction (2005), Debt Dept. (2008), and Presidence (2010). Excepter has released music through labels such as Load Records, 5RC, and Animal Collective's Paw Tracks.
