Imperial Leisure, a ska and rock band formed in London in 2001, began under the name Chewbacca before adding trumpet player Rob O'Neale and trombonist Mark Rudland. The band released the debut EP Untouchable (2005) on Dirty Records, followed by the limited-edition vinyl Great British Summertime and the single “Man on the Street” on ORG Records. In 2008, the group released the debut album The Art of Saying Nothing on Steamroller Music and performed at the Glastonbury and Bestival festivals. Subsequent albums included Death to the One Trick Pony (2012) and Lifestyle Brand (2015), followed by the single “Rrrrrollin” (2018). After performing at the O2 Academy Islington on December 20, 2019, the band ceased activity but returned with a performance on December 30, 2021. The fourth album, Through the Mountain (2023), was recorded in Cornwall over nine months. Imperial Leisure played a final show in Cornwall in 2025 before disbanding.
