Fubuki Koshiji

Mihoko Naito, also known as 越路 吹雪 (Fubuki Koshiji), born on February 18, 1924, in Niigata Prefecture, was a Japanese chanson singer and stage actress. She began her career by joining the Takarazuka Revue in 1939, where she gained recognition as a star before leaving in 1951. Following her departure, she transitioned into film with the support of friend Tokiko Iwatani, appearing in productions that blended shinpa, shingeki, and kabuki arts. Known for her French chanson style, she was influenced by Édith Piaf, releasing Japanese-language covers such as "Hymne à l'amour" (1951) and "Tombe la neige." Throughout her career, she released numerous albums including ベストセレクション2 (1986), コロムビア・イヤーズ (1993), and ゴールデン☆ベスト (2002). She was married to composer Tsunemi Naitō. She passed away on November 7, 1980, in Tokyo from stomach cancer at the age of 56.
