The Van Jets was a Belgian rock group from Ostend. Formed in 2003, the ensemble consisted of Michael Verschaeve, Wolfgang Vanwymeersch, Frederik Tampere, Floris De Decker and lead singer Johannes Verschaeve. The band won Humo's Rock Rally in 2004, and released the EP The Van Jets in 2005. Their debut studio album, Electric Soldiers, appeared in 2007. The group's subsequent recordings included the albums Cat Fit Fury! (2010) and Halo (2012). The ensemble shifted toward a synth-pop style for the 2015 album Welcome to Strange Paradise, which was produced with Leo Abrahams and mixing engineer Tchad Blake. Blake also mixed the band's 2017 record Future Primitives. The Van Jets disbanded in 2019. Johannes Verschaeve subsequently pursued a solo career under the name Johannes Is Zijn Naam and released a Flemish-language album in 2023.
