Trancesetters, a Dutch electronic music duo, was composed of Gaston Steenkist and Alex Dijksterhuis. Their early works include the vinyl 12" records The Secrets of Mediation (1992) and "Fantasising or Hallucinating?" D.E.P. (1992), as well as the EP Neurodisco (1994), which were all released on First Impression. In 1999, the duo issued "Roaches" on Touché, a track that entered the UK Singles Chart at number 55. Their breakthrough followed with the "Synergy" (2001), which peaked at number 72 on the UK Singles Chart. Their work has been included on several remix compilations, including releases by Carl Cox, Sasha & Digweed, and the Global Underground series. In 2001, they released the EP The Saga, further solidifying their presence in the electronic music community. Dijksterhuis passed away on February 27, 2023.
