Filé

Filé, a Cajun music ensemble from Louisiana, was founded in 1983 by Ward Lormand and Kevin Shearin. The group is named after filé powder, a spice used in Cajun cuisine. Filé's debut performance occurred in 1985 with Peter Stevens joining the band. Their album, Cajun Dance Band, was released in 1987 by Flying Fish Records. In the early 1990s, D'Jalma Garnier and David Egan joined the group. Filé's subsequent albums include 2 Left Feet (1989), La Vie Marron - The Runaway Life (1996), and Hang on to Your Chapeau! (2000).
