Duncan Beiny, known as DJ Yoda, was born in 1977 in London, England. He began his career performing at Mojo, a popular Warwick hip hop and soul event, during his university years. After graduating from the University of Warwick, Beiny released underground demo mixtapes which led to his first official release, How to Cut & Paste Mix Tape Vol.1, on Antidote Records. In 2006, DJ Yoda released his debut album of original material, The Amazing Adventures of DJ Yoda. Throughout his career, Beiny has collaborated with notable artists like Danger Mouse and Jemini, and has been a regular guest on BBC Radio 1. He won the Ninth Annual Independent Music Awards for Contemporary Classic Album in 2010 with the Heritage Orchestra. In 2022, he released Prom Nite on Lewis Recordings.
