Baker Gurvitz Army was an English rock group active between 1974 and 1976, featuring Ginger Baker on drums, Adrian Gurvitz on guitar and vocals, and Paul Gurvitz on bass guitar and backing vocals. The band emerged when the Gurvitz brothers joined forces with Baker following his stint with Blind Faith and Ginger Baker's Air Force. They were later joined by singer Steve Parsons and keyboardist Peter Lemer. Their self-titled debut album, Baker Gurvitz Army, released in 1975, peaked at number 22 on the UK Albums Chart and reached the US Billboard 200 chart. Notable tracks included "Mad Jack". The band released two more studio albums, Elysian Encounter (1975) and Hearts on Fire (1976), though these did not achieve the same chart success. Baker Gurvitz Army disbanded in 1976 following the death of their manager.
