Niza was a Madrid‑based indie pop duo formed in 1998, consisting of guitarist Roberto and vocalist Silvia, who began writing and performing together while still in their teens. Their first breakthrough came with the 1999 single Niza, released by Elefant Records, which gained airplay on Radio 3 and introduced the group to the Spanish independent scene. In 2000, they released the single "Topolino", featuring a contemporary cover of Cecilia’s "Por las tardes", and in 2022 they released their sole studio album Canciones de temporada, produced by Ian Catt and featuring collaborations with Guille Mostaza and Eric Jiménez. The group disbanded in June 2004, and they reunited briefly for concerts in Tokyo in 2005 and issued the compilation Archivando mis recuerdos that same year.
