Sky Architect, a progressive rock band from Rotterdam, Netherlands, was formed in 2006 by Wabe Wieringa, Rik van Honk, and Christiaan Bruin while studying at a pop academy. The trio later expanded to include Tom Luchies and Guus van Mierlo, completing the lineup. Their debut album, Excavations of the Mind, was released in 2010 on ProgRock Records and received positive reviews from sources like BlogCritics. In 2011, they released their second album, A Dying Man's Hymn. The band continued with A Billion Years of Solitude in 2014 and Nomad in 2017. Sky Architect has signed to FREIA Music.
