Steelwing was a Swedish heavy metal band formed in 2009 in Nyköping. Initially known as Scavenger, the group changed its name to Steelwing upon the addition of vocalist Riley Erickson, inspired by the cover art of Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance. Their breakthrough came with their debut album Lord of the Wasteland, released in 2010 via NoiseArt Records. The album received positive reviews and established Steelwing as a notable act in traditional heavy metal. In 2012, they released their second studio album Zone of Alienation. Throughout their career, Steelwing toured extensively with bands such as Blind Guardian, Sabaton, and Accept. Their final album, Reset, Reboot, Redeem, was released in 2015. The band announced its dissolution in 2016.
