Oliver Mally (born 6 February 1966, Wagna), known professionally as “Sir” Oliver Mally, is an Austrian blues musician and singer-songwriter. He began playing guitar autodidactically at age 15. In 1990, he founded the band “Sir” Oliver Mally’s Blues Distillery and established a reputation through extensive touring and collaborations with artists such as Louisiana Red and Steve James. Mally’s discography includes the albums Wild Streak (1996), Bound for Nowhere (2003), and Love Is a Devil (2006). In 2015, he released Shapeshifter and transitioned his band into the project Nu' Yard. He later formed the “Sir” Oliver Mally Group in 2020, releasing the album Tryin' to Get By (2021), which earned a nomination for the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. Mally received multiple awards from Concerto magazine, including "Bester Blues-Rootskünstler" in 1999. His honors include the Goldene Ehrenzeichen des Landes Steiermark (2017), the 2024 Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der Stadt Leibnitz, and the 2024 album Almost There.
