Menschdefekt, a German electronic music project, was founded in 2004. The band's name is derived from the album Massiv in Mensch by the band Massiv and aims to highlight social and political issues. In 2009, their collaboration with Stahlnebel vs. Black Selket on the track "Stalingrad" became an international club hit after its release on the Alfa-Matrix sampler Endzeit Bunkertracks Act IV. Fredrik Croona joined as vocalist and lyricist in February 2009, leading to the release of the EP Projekt Tremor. Menschdefekt signed with Infacted Recordings later that year and released their debut album, The Human Parasite, in 2010, which peaked at number 11 on the German Alternative Charts. In 2025, Alex Erbacher replaced Fredrik Croona as the lead vocalist, marking a shift towards a more classical synthpop sound. Menschdefekt continued to release albums including Empty World (2020), and Recombination (2022).
