Meital Slominsky, known professionally as Mei Finegold, was born on December 16, 1982, in Rishon LeZion, Israel. She is an Israeli singer. She began her musical journey performing at school ceremonies and later took vocal lessons to master classical songs. Finegold's early career involved organizing shows in nightclubs and bars before becoming the lead singer of the group Disiac. The group contributed to Hebrew Labor, a special CD featuring covers of classic Israeli songs. Finegold gained significant recognition by finishing in third place on the 2009 edition of Kokhav Nolad, the Israeli version of Pop Idol. She released her debut album Soda Pop in 2010. Her breakthrough moment came in January 2014 when she was announced as Israel's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Finegold performed "Same Heart" during the second semi-final on May 8, 2014, in Copenhagen, Denmark, but did not qualify for the final.
