Richard Landry, born 16 November 1938 in Cecilia, Louisiana, is an American saxophonist. After studying at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, he moved to New York in 1968, where he performed solo and produced film and video works. His early career included participation in Philip Glass’s ensemble and a 1977 appearance at Documenta 6. Landry released Solos and 4 Cuts Placed in “A First Quarter” in 1973, followed by Fifteen Saxophones in 1977 and Having Been Built on Sand in 1978.
