Kaleef

Kaliphz was a British hip-hop group from Rochdale formed in 1992. The ensemble was founded by 2-Phaan and Jabba da Hype. The group began as part of the breakdancing scene in the early 1980s. Their recordings include the debut album Seven Deadly Sins (1995). The band achieved recognition with the single “Walk Like a Champion” (1996) featuring Prince Naseem which reached number 23 on the UK Singles Chart. The group changed their name to Kaleef and moved their musical style in a pop direction. Their discography includes the album 53rd State of Mind (1997) and the single “Golden Brown” (1996) which reached number 22. Subsequent recordings include the singles “Trials of Life” (1997) and “Sands of Time” (1998) which reached number 26. The ensemble became inactive in 1998.
