Urszula Beata Kasprzak, known professionally as Urszula, is a Polish rock and pop singer and multi-instrumentalist born on February 7, 1960, in Lublin. She began playing piano and accordion in her youth and gained national recognition in 1977 after winning the main prize at the Festival of Soviet Songs in Zielona Góra with Kopciuszek. In 1982, Urszula began collaborating with Budka Suflera and composer Romuald Lipko, recording Fatamorgana '82, followed by songs including Dmuchawce, latawce, wiatr. She released her debut album, Urszula, in 1983, followed by Malinowy król in 1984. During the late 1980s, she began working closely with guitarist and composer Stanisław Zybowski, with whom she later formed the group Jumbo and recorded the English-language album Urszula & Jumbo (1992). After returning to Poland, she released Biała droga (1996), which achieved platinum status and included the songs Na sen and Konik na biegunach. Her subsequent albums included Supernova (1998), Udar (2001), and Dziś już wiem (2010). Urszula received second place at the Baltic Song Festival in Karlshamn and was awarded the Bursztynowy Słowik at the 2001 Sopot Festival for her career achievements. Zybowski, her husband and longtime musical collaborator, died on November 22, 2001. In 2024, Urszula released the album Czwarty Raz, featuring songs including Tam za rogiem.
