Cécile Kayirebwa, born on October 22, 1946, in Kigali, Rwanda, is a singer. She began her singing career as an adolescent with Radio Rwanda. Kayirebwa's musical journey took a significant turn in 1973 when she left Rwanda for Belgium due to anti-Tutsi violence. Returning to Rwanda in 1988, Kayirebwa created "Umunezero", a popular song that resonated with the Front Patriotique Rwandais. Her debut solo album, Rwanda, featured songs by Jean-Christophe Matata and showcased her unique vocal techniques. She released additional albums in 2002 and 2005, and also appeared at various festivals and events, including the Holocaust Memorial Event in London in 2001.
